Hi - using Veras 2 (trial version) in Rhino7, 3d mode does not seem to work:

  • 3d mode as in the videos above does work, I see something moving in sync with my rhino window but geometry does not come through (I can see the geometry in 2d mode)
  • select by material therefore also doesn’t work, as there is no geometry in the 3d window
  • the web version did not accept my obj files from Rhino, at least I couldn’t see them in the preview

My rhino file is very simple, just a set of boxes on top of eachother, could that have anything to do with it? Does Veras need solids or something?

@miccor - welcome to the forum!

Would it be possible to share your model with us for testing?

Hi,
when I click on the 3d button my model doesn’t show in the Veras window. What am I doing wrong? It says loading but nothing comes up. I work in Rhino 8.

Veras - Release 2.0.7.0

This is an automatic update for versions 2.0.2.0 and above. For versions below 2.0.2.0, please use the link with the installer in the post above.

Updates

The 3d mode loader will now automatically select the best loading method. This should allow Veras to load 2BG+ models. However, there is still a limit to size, and we’re looking at further expanding this limit.

@eanean & @miccor - this update should address the issue you were having. If it does not, please let us know.

Please forgive the stupid question…for the Automatic update do I need to do anything. I have restarted Revit and still shows the older version.

I had this question as well.
But if you go to the webapp you will see it updated to the latest version.
The installer versions are still not the latest.
Current latest available is 2.0.5.0 from the download link above

@arider & @verma - sorry for the confusion. There’s an Extension Version an a Web Version that you can view under the About Veras menu. A client version for 2.0.7.0 was not released, as there were no source code updates for that part of the app.

Here’s the tooltip text for more info:

For a little more clarity, the Revit plugin will not have the new changes in it as the web app with 2.0.7.0 would have!

The Revit plugin is the web app, but wrapped in a plugin window that has direct communication with Revit.

Alright, is it using WebView for the webpage delivery?

Exactly! The entire UI is loaded within a webview.
