I set it to AC28. Everything appeared in the menu. When updating the model, it gives an error. Please help me to remove it:
“attempt preview resync error: Error reading image
from disk., location: 279”
You might be getting that message if you are running the trial version of ArchiCAD (we need to get a better message to the user if this is the case). When ArchiCAD is in trial mode, the APIs are limited.
If you’re not using a trial version of ArchiCAD - we’ll need to further investigate.
I will write that this is not a trial version. So it’s interesting to know how to solve this error. I switched all the folders of your product and the archives from read-only mode to normal mode in windows 10. I added other programs that can block the work (antivirus, firewall) to the exceptions.
Based on where you’re experiencing that error in the code, it seems like you almost complete the full image syncing process. You should even have the image exported successfully (this goes on behind the scenes).
Go to this folder location: C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Graphisoft\Archicad Cache Folder\Archicad 28\Veras\cache
Can you tell me if there’s an exported image of your 3d view from Archicad? The image should be called veras_archicad_image.png. My guess is that the image is not being read because it somehow gets corrupted, or there’s an ungranted read privilege.
Thank you for the feedback. We’re looking into increasing that limit for the trials. For now I’ve updated the render count for your account to be 100 renders. I hope that helps.
We also have the same problem. The difference is that the error number is 294. There is a “veras_archicad_image.png” file in the cash folder, but it doesn’t go any further, even if I ran archicad as an administrator.
Could you possibly help with some solution suggestions?
thank you in advance
I may be able to help you with a little more information. Firstly, knowing that veras_archicad_image.png exists is a good first step–thanks for that. Next, I’d like to know if you’re able to manually open that image file, and view the image as expected.
A couple other questions that occurred to me:
Are you on Windows or MacOSX?
Are there somehow any special characters in the path to the aforementioned image, such as in the user profile name?
Despite your attempt to run with admin privileges, I think it’s still most likely a read privilege, based on the error you’re seeing. It’s not totally clear to me whether Oleksii’s earlier post is stating what they’ve tried, or what worked for them, but I believe that’s a good approach to take. By going to Properties->Security tab you can ensure the read and execute privileges:
And antivirus/security software is definitely something else to look at. You may have to add that image file to a whitelist–better yet, the parent cache folder, if this ends up being the case.
