We’ve recently purchased an additional licence seat for ArchDesign Collection within our practice, on the understanding that this would allow another team member to work concurrently and increase our Veras rendering quota.
However, we’ve noticed that our render quota hasn’t changed at all since adding the extra seat.
At the moment, it still appears that we’re capped at the same render allowance as before, which is causing a bottleneck when multiple staff are trying to produce visuals at the same time.
Can anyone clarify:
Is the render quota tied to the account rather than the number of seats?
Should purchasing an additional seat increase the render allowance?
Is there something we need to enable or request for this to update?
Or is render capacity only increased through a different type of upgrade? I.e. using another account to purchase a separate licence?
We assumed that adding another paid seat would scale the usable render capacity, so we’re trying to understand whether this is expected behaviour or something that needs correcting on our account.
We’re having the same issue. We bought a second seat hoping to increase the quota. The second floating license did not increase our quota. Please advise.
Sorry for any troubles or confusion. Let’s sort things out and see what’s happening.
From what I can see, you have two floating Veras seats that started in late January. These currently have 0 credits, and will refresh a month out from 1/24. Were there any issues here?
The seat you purchased 2/11 is an AI Creative Boost. I see that it, alone, is at 97.25% of its capacity. So it is being used for rendering. Because this is a named seat, and not a floating seat, only the person who this seat is assigned to can render.
If you still had remaining quota for the month on your floating seats, this would be accessible across everyone in the organization. The named AI Creative Boost will only be accessible to one user at a time as we do not offer a floating version of this product.
Happy to further advise if the purchase yielded unexpected behaviors or results.
I have a question about how a second seat affects the quota. Say you have one floating license, use up the quota and then buy another floating license under the same organization. Would this double the quota, or does the whole organization share the same original quota?
Welcome to the forum, @Will. Buying a second floating seat would double the rendering capacity by combining the quota from each seat. With floating licenses, that combined quota is available to all users who are invited to the organization.
Despite being able to assign floating seats to different users in my.chaos, as it pertains to be able to log-in and use the product, we’ve settled on a simple rule for the rendering quota of floating licenses: that regardless of floating seat assignment, the quota for the seat is still accessible to all in the organization as though it were an unassigned seat.
