Issue importing 3D warehouse object from SketchUp 2025 into Revit 2025

I am trying to import the model below into Revit using Helix. I am able to “send to Revit” but when I “import” Revit acts busy for a bit but then nothing happens. There aren’t any error messages that I notice. I’ve tried importing it into an existing model as well as an empty revit family file. I suspect I’m missing something but I can’t tell what.

I have just discovered Helix today so am a total newbie. I’ve tried watching videos and looking at similar topics in the forum, but after attempting to duplicate what I’m seeing, it still didn’t work. It makes me wonder if it’s the file itself. I appreciate any guidance you can offer.

Here’s the model: (3D Warehouse)

Welcome to the forums!

Can you take a look in this folder?
C:\ProgramData\EvolveLAB\Helix

This is where Helix caches all its files. The one coming out of Sketchup and going into Revit is model.hlx

If you don’t see this file then the issue would be on the Sketchup side exporting.

If this file is larger than 20 MB, the issue is going to be on the Revit side. Importing it will generally just hang up. The solution to either problem is typically break up your export into parts to keep that exported file size down.

If you can share some screenshots of what you are trying to export and your mapping file, I could take a look.

Just a few minutes ago, I thought I’d try it again. I got the object into the model. However, none of the materials have transferred.

Here are screenshots of the Model, Map Board and Materials:

I have no idea what those unmapped materials are. There were more but I was able to purge all the rest.

Thanks for you help with this!

Can you share over the file in a PM?

I’m happy to share the file but I can’t figure out how to PM you.

Regarding the issue, you can also test a model that we know works to see whether you get positive results: Convert SketchUp 3D Warehouse Component to Revit

This will allow us to isolate the issue (whether it’s an issue with the model or with the app installation)

I will try the file.

When I go to Dave’s profile, I only see “2 posts in topic”. There’s no Message button. I tried yours as well and you had neither.

I see now. I think that’s bc you are a new user. I’ve updated your account and you should now see the message button.

It is there now. Thanks for that! I have to admit I was feeling quite inept. All better now!
