RVT 2024 crashes after launching Glyph 2.0.4.1

I recently updated Glyph from v1.3.3.9 to v2.0.4.1. I am using Revit 2024.3, shortly after opening Glyph Revit crashes. Are there any know issues with the latest installer of Glyph?

Thanks for your help

Hi @nbassett,

To help us identify the issue, could you please answer the following questions:

  1. What is the Revit language?
  2. What are the Revit units?
  3. Did you open Glyph in an existing project containing Glyph tasks?
  4. Are you getting any errors?

Thank you!

Hi Miguel -

  1. What is the Revit language? - English (ENU)
  2. What are the Revit units? - Imperial
  3. Did you open Glyph in an existing project containing Glyph tasks? - No
  4. Are you getting any errors? - No, Revit shuts down without warnings/errors

@nbassett, thank you for answering my questions. We are currently investigating this issue and we will release a new update as soon as we find the issue.

Thank you!

@nbassett, does the same error occur when opening Glyph on an empty model? I just tested Glyph on 10 different models without encountering any errors.

Yes, it happens in blank models. If I had to guess it might be something specific to Revit 2024. It runs fine in Revit 2022.

At one time I did have a trial version installed. I have tried to uninstall reinstall several times without any luck.

I think, I found the issue. You will love this…I had changed the DIP settings to High DPI scaling. This override seemed to be causing the issue. After unchecking this override the issue is not happening.

Hi @nbassett,
We have been trying to replicate the error but have not been successful. I changed the “High DPI setting” to “Application,” then to “System,” and finally to “System (Enhanced).” In all cases, I was able to open Glyph without any issues.

By any chance, have you changed any other settings?

Thank you for your time!

Hi Miguel -

I just switched my settings back to “High DPI” > “Application” and the error occurred. After changing it back, the error did not happen again. The error does not always occur immediately, sometimes opening/closing glyph 1-3 times will prompt the error. In addition, opening 3d views might also trigger the error, after closing glyph.

I don’t believe any other settings are the root cause, but it could be specific to my graphics driver or system. I am using a Lenovo, which often have scaling issues. If you want, I can send you the Autodesk crash report info?

Thank you for the additional information. I would appreciate it if you could send me the crash report at miguel@evolvelab.io, if possible.

Thank you again for your help!
