I’m a new user starting to get familiarity with the program, but I’m finding myself dealing with disappearing layouts on a regular basis. If I have the Morphis layout going, and I switch revit tabs, the layout disappears when I return to the original tab. In order to get the layout to come back, I have to relaunch morphis, and re-enter all of the settings I previously made.
Previously, I exported my settings and would import them when I had to relaunch the program, but now, the program won’t even successfully import my previous morphis file settings.
Are these just bugs I’m dealing with? Is there a way to fix it? Any successful work arounds? I’m still utilizing my free trial for what it’s worth.

The layout preview does sometimes disappear when switching between views, especially views in a different model. Morphis doesn’t save unbaked designs, so once you close the Morphis UI you loose any designs that you haven’t baked yet.
When switching views, sometimes panning or zooming the view makes the design preview show up again. Also, if you hit the ‘regen’ button in Morphis, or change a module count slider on a layout you have open, the preview should re-appear as the design regenerates.
FYI - You can also bake a design a just model lines, if you wanna preserve just the geometry, but not bake it to full Revit elements yet.
Can you share some information about your setup? What version of Morphis and Revit are you using? Can you share the Morphis settings file that is failing to load, as well as the Revit model you are working in?
I want to also note that we are currently working on Morphis V2, which is a ground-up rewrite. As we are focusing our efforts on the new version, we may not have resources to fix existing bugs like this one, in favor of pushing to get v2 released. It’s currently in alpha testing, if you are interested I can include you in the alpha-testing group - just let me know.
Unfortunately I can’t share the revit file I’m working with, but I’ve attached the morphis file for the settings I exported. I’m using Revit 2024, Morphis V0.9.6.2 Beta (trial version).
Currently, I’m just doing experiments with a simple parking layout, but we intend on using morphis for a large project with a complex program, and we want to be able to produce floor plans and iterate quickly. Ideally, I’d like to be able to save the morphis layout so I don’t have to bake it and delete a bunch of geometry when I need to edit things down the road. I figured the best way to do that would be to export the settings after I’ve set them, but as I mentioned, that’s had mixed success for me so far.
If you could grant me access to the alpha for V2 (ideally for Revit 25), I would appreciate it. Do you have a target launch date for V2? How long will the alpha testing be available for use? Also, is V2 a separate license, or would one paid license for V1 also grant me access for V2 when that’s launched?
@nndevarch - understandable, thanks for sharing the .morphis file.
I wasn’t able to load it into Morphis either. Are you able to load it with the Revit model open that you originally used to create and save/export that Morphis Layout type? If it has families in it, like say a module was mapped to bake to, it may not open in models that don’t have those same families.
It supports Revit 24-26 so you should be good. You might have in uninstall old Morphis (v0.9.6.2) to use the v2 alpha in Revit 2024 - not necessary for Revit 2025 though.
I was targeting AU (mid Sep) for the public beta release, but I’m not sure exactly what I/we/Chaos will decide, we’re still discussing it. Right now, you don’t need a license for the v2 alpha. The licensing & pricing for v2 is not yet decided, so stay tuned for that.
You said you would go beyond parking, BUT for parking in general, I would recommend trying out TestFit, if you haven’t already - I think their parking generator is one of their stronger features.
