can't select family type

When converting from DWG to a Revit model, the Revit family type cannot be selected. I downloaded the Helix trial few days ago, but the Revit family type cannot be selected, and I am also unable to create it. I will provide a video for you to review.

I was able to download and open your CAD file, let me give it a try and see if I can figure out what’s going wrong.

I was able to give this a try, and it worked for me. Here’s a gif:

Here are the settings that I used:

  • Revit 2023 empty model (attached - but you’ll have to update the .dwg link path)
  • Picked the ‘Basic Wall - Wall 1’ family
  • Turned off centerline detection like in your video (but I think you’ll want it on, based on the content of the CAD file)
  • I’ve also attached the Helix mapping file I used

Can you try running it with the attached model and Helix mapping settings? If so, it might be something related to the Revit file / template you are using. If so, are you able to share the Revit file with me, so I can test that too?
